The October 18 meeting looks like a really good one, one you don't want to miss! Club President and DMR guru Ron Matusek, WA6TQH is presenting an update on DMR as it pertains to the club as well as hosting a workshop for hams interested in getting started with DMR and getting their radios and hotspots set up. Ron's presentation slides are available here. They will remain on the website as part of our DMR library of how-tos.

Ron is also presenting a very interesting technical topic on a really affordable VNA. For those not familiar with this instrument, the best analogy I can draw is that it is an antenna analyzer on steroids. In addition to providing a very detailed analysis of antennas, it can also be used to characterize components, transmission lines, or just about anything else that pertains to RF. Once the province of well-equipped labs with deep pockets and occasionally a lucky ham who happened on one at a hamfest or surplus sale, even a used VNA could cost thousands. The Mini-VNA that Ron is presenting can be on your workbench for less than $100. Ron's presentation slides are available here. They will remain on the website as part of our DMR library of how-tos.
